MY ALLSTATE HORROR STORY

My only child, who is 17 years old, was involved in a wreck with a person who was insured by Allstate. The Allstate driver pulled out in front of my daughter and was charged with failure to yield right of way. My daughter could have been killed by the carelessness of the Allstate driver
It has been over two months and I have gone through nothing but Hell with Allstate. I can not get our car repaired or her medical bills taken care of. I was raised by parents who taught me that it pays to be honest. Well, this is not the case with Allstate. We did not try to fake any medical injuries or try to sue, yet. I have been given the run around! I have cried, my blood pressure has gone up, and it is not fair for decent human beings to be treated the way Allstate has treated me.
I was not given a rental car until three weeks after the accident. I was told the rental car would be extended until January 6, 2000 which is the date my car would have been repaired had they sent the check that I was told was in the mail. They have since said that the car was only authorized until December 23, 1999. I had to pay $349.64 for the rental car I had to turn in. Why must I pay for the rental car when their insured was at fault? I just can not understand! Why must I do without a car when the other driver was at fault?
It has been over two months and nothing has changed! The adjusters have lied to me, my family and I are without a car and have medical bills that have not been paid. My daughter could have been killed by the recklessness of the Allstate driver and all we have faced since the accident is emotional stress.
When I checked the Internet I was not surprised to find many websites (and now mine) devoted to complaints against Allstate Insurance Company. You only need to look at the websites to see numerous complaints and lawsuits from across the nation. How do they get by with treating people this way? I am taking every avenue possible to make sure others do not go through the torment I am still going through with Allstate.
I have issued a formal complaint to the SC Dept. of Insurance and I have written the local newspaper. It is not fair for a corporation such as Allstate to harass victims. If you too have been wronged by Allstate let others know!
Together, we can make a difference!
"There is no incentive for insurance companies to do what is right, such as live up to the promises made in their policies. Tort reformers fueled by insurance money think big business and the insurance industry need to be protected against "runaway juries." It's the other way around. Big business and the insurance industry have always been able to take care of themselves. The little people need protection from them. This country was founded on the common law right of the little guy to get into court with his hired gun to fight the oppressor, be it big government or big business. Take that away and we have nothing left. Look around. It's being whittled away, bit by bit, caps on damages here, restrictions on jury trials there. It won't end until we recognize the enemy and join together to take a stand against them. It will take the little people to do this together".
